At Sea—off the coast of Venezuela, and as I write near Caracas.
80F, sunny!

TK and his ham and cheese omelette

During days at sea there isn’t much exciting to report. TK did get the hot water problem resolved. Yes, we have had a few glitches, which is natural given this ship was built in 2004. Allegedly it was refurbished in 2019, but that probably did not include our stateroom. Let’s see how things play out on our next cruise on the brand new Carnival Celebration.

Since this was Sunday, our usual breakfast day with our dear friends, H, J, N, and F, we went to the dining room and texted them greetings and photos of our breakfast. I really think the food on this ship is more enjoyable that our Med Cruise on the Regal. The chef knows what he is doing!

Anybody who knows me knows this is msy breakfast go to

After eating, I relaxed on our balcony for hours with another Clive Cussler book, glancing from time to time at the beautiful gentle sea.  No creatures emerged. No birds either.

TK wandered about and relaxed by his favorite pool located aft—The Outriggers Bar and Pool --he always gravitates to that area. He had lunch at the buffet and saw the Chocolate Extravaganza.  I bet he ate some of those desserts.  He took no photos, and I did not go.

At 3 p.m. the World Fresh Marketeplace Buffet
was empty, so easy to take photos.

We had another very good dinner. Both of us had Vol au Vent with Lobster/Shrimp, which tasted like lobster bisque. I had Beef Wellington with truffles, and TK had spaghetti carbonara. Dessert was Crème Brulee, and it was almost as good as Friend J’s.  I forgot to take my phone to dinner for photos, and TK forgot to take any--sorry!

And by the way, we hope Friend H saw the firetrucks in yesterday’s blog. TK said he saw both men and women firefighters in the firehouse!

After dinner, TK went to see Batman at MUTS, and I went to hear Diamond Strings in the Piazza. I keep forgetting to mention that we have been an hour  ahead of Erie time for many days.  It may be Daylight Savings Time in this area, not sure. It looks like Erie County is going to have a little warmer weather this week—we are sending as much warmth up north as we can!

TK’s Takes: He is happy to have warm water for his shower.  And he said, “You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.”
